About Us:
Wikitabu Publishers Ltd is a purpose-driven publishing and content innovation company dedicated to safeguarding identities through storytelling. We deliver end-to-end publishing services—from concept to print to multimedia—and engage audiences through immersive community platforms like Wrighting Labs and our streaming service, TALEs.
With over 50 books published and a growing portfolio of school, corporate, and institutional clients, we are scaling impact across generations by producing and distributing compelling African stories that inform, inspire, and ignite.
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and persuasive Sales Executive to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a consultative selling environment and is passionate about storytelling, publishing, education, and legacy-building.
You will be at the forefront of building meaningful relationships with institutions, schools, corporate clients, and individuals—helping them publish, sponsor, or consume Wikitabu’s storytelling solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sales Execution
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue from publishing services, Wrighting Labs, and digital content subscriptions (e.g., TALEs).
- Identify, prospect, and secure partnerships with institutions (schools, churches, corporates) and individual legends (authors).
- Lead consultative sales conversations—translating client needs into Wikitabu solutions.
- Execute cold calls, warm leads follow-ups, and sales pitches with clarity, confidence, and storytelling flair.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline across different verticals—publishing, community programs, digital subscriptions.
- Relationship Management
- Build, nurture, and manage long-term client relationships—from first contact to repeat business.
- Maintain high service standards, anticipate client needs, and collaborate with internal teams for seamless delivery.
- Act as a brand ambassador—representing Wikitabu at meetings, expos, events, and conferences.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on lead conversion, closed deals, and revenue performance.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions using the CRM system.
- Provide timely sales forecasts and market intelligence to inform business decisions.
- Market Development
- Monitor publishing, education, and content industry trends to identify emerging opportunities.
- Recommend new marketing ideas and sales activations to increase visibility and reach.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign inputs and lead generation efforts.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Communication, PR, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a consultative sales role (experience in publishing, education, media, or B2B sales is an advantage).
- Proven ability to close deals and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- High energy, resourceful, confident, and persuasive.
- Strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Tech-savvy—proficient in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
Location & Terms
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Nairobi, Kenya with field travel to clients and event locations.
